Definition Paragraph

“18 de Septiembre”

“18 de Septiembre” is a party that is celebrated in Chile, and it is full of national activities. The reason for the party is the celebration of the Independence of Chile, which was on September 18 in 1810. The duration of the celebration is three days, which starts on September 18th and finished on September 20th. Also, these days are holidays, so you can celebrate continually for three days. Therefore, there are special places for celebrating, called “Ramada”, which are on an empty land were families and sellers put their tents. In this place, the people have a lot of activities to do. For example, there are a lot of typical games, such as “Rayuela”, which is the most popular game. Another activity is dancing to the typical music of Chile, which is called “Cueca”. This dance is performed by a couple, usually a man and a woman, but sometimes it is performed by a group. In brief, the “18 de Septiembre” is a national holiday that it is full of typical activities that you can do.
